I supervise the Computer Vision Team, lead business development efforts in this area, and coordinate AI activities across Kitware. The Vision Team has 60+ members, including 25+ PhDs. I spend much of my overseeing the Kitware parts of large government-sponsored research programs, usually involving multiple university and industrial subcontractors. The balance of my efforts are spent developing new programs, managing the Vision Team and strategic efforts in AI. Since joining Kitware I have initiated and led more than two dozen contracts in computer vision and machine learning with a combined value of more than $70M.

I\'m the Vice President of AI at Kitware, Inc, an open-source scientific computing company with groups in computer vision, scientific visualization, medical image computing and software. I founded the Computer Vision Team in 2007 to perform applied and basic research in vision for government and commercial customers.Over the years I have supervised and performed research in various areas of computer vision including: deep learning for vision problems; event, activity and behavior recognition; motion pattern learning and anomaly detection; tracking; change detection; image segmentation; object recognition; and content-based retrieval. I\'ve led projects sponsored by commercial companies and government entities including DARPA, AFRL, ONR, IARPA and NGA, that range from basic, academic research to developing advanced prototypes and demonstrations installed at operational facilities.I remain active in the academic computer vision research community, with papers, reviewing and organizational roles in the major vision conferences such as the Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), the International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV), and the Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV). I\'ve published more than 80 papers in computer vision; served as General Chair, Workshops Co-Chair, Corporate Relations Chair and Area Chair for CVPR; Corporate Relations Chair for ICCV; General Chair and Program Co-Chair for WACV; and I\'m on various steering or advisory committees for CVF, WACV, NOAA and DARPA.The Vision Team at Kitware is usually hiring researchers and software engineers.
