ABOUT ANTHONY HANNANT

On September 16th 1972, arriving like a small cross country train,(late and well packed), I entered the world of M.O.T\'s and D.I.Y – My Pop was a mechanic at the time and Mum, a \'Jack of all trades\'. From 1985 to 1991, I attended Nicholas Chamberlaine Comprehensive School, successfully negotiating seven GCSE\'s, three \'A\' Levels and several grades on my trumpet. The Autumn of 1991 saw my progression through a Foundation course (NDD), at the North Warwickshire College of Technology and Art. In 1992 a HND in Packaging Design led me to The Surrey Institute of Art and Design. After two years and a merit I rounded off my education with a first class honours degree in Packaging Design. Like many graduates, a year out to travel was too good an opportunity to miss. So, on newly formed wings I took off to New Zealand in January \'96, for six months of serious back-packing and off-road photography. My first real taste of design was with Jones Knowles Ritchie, a London based Packaging Design consultancy. New product development in FMCG\'s, beverages and Alco-pops for several blue chip clients, proved to be both a challenging and rewarding experience. I joined The Value Engineers (a Brand Strategy/NPD consultancy) in November 1997, where my skills and experiences broadened quite dramatically whilst working on a wide range of products and services for the likes of: Unilever, Smithkline Beecham, Birdseye Walls and Heineken BV, to name but a few. After a brief spell with Polestar Taylowes, a print and card engineering specialist, I moved on to Bear, Bear and Bear. You may well laugh at the name, but the move proved to be a defining point in my career, working for a novelty gift company as Product Development/Studio Manager. A decision to move closer to home in 2002 brought me to The Complete Works, a well respected children\'s book packager and that was the beginning of my publishing career.
