About Anthony C.

Anthony Curtis is a former educator and current non-profit leader who believes in the power and importance of social good. Anthony was born to help people see their own greatness, connect those people to others, and then empower and motivate people to come together in solidarity to make a greater impact using whatever platform is available to them. In Anthony’s current role as the Senior Manager of Volunteer Programs and Organizational Culture at the nonprofit the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), he manages, organizes, facilitates, and leads various efforts to encourage corporate volunteers and community volunteers to empower students to activate their entrepreneurial mindset. In this role, which has been 100% remote due to the pandemic, Anthony has had the opportunity to be innovative, strategic, and more comfortable with risk as he has helped build curriculum, led virtual event planning, and coordinated with various stakeholders- all for social good. Anthony has even created and hosts NFTE’s Own It Series: a virtual session that allows diverse senior level leaders and entrepreneurs the opportunity to connect and inspire budding entrepreneurs in a short, engaging, and interactive manner. Before joining the NFTE team, Anthony worked at the nonprofit buildOn as the U.S. Immersions Director. He led the organization’s efforts to develop and enhance their Immersion programs: various personal and student-led experiences that allowed various companies and their employees to engage in leadership development and social impact opportunities throughout the United States. He led the collaboration with a team of coordinators across six different cities, various departments, external stakeholders, and buildOn’s Senior Leadership Team to strategically plan and execute meaningful experiences for both students and donors. His professional experience at two nonprofits and as an educator for ten years has shaped his understanding of leadership, facilitation, and authentic community engagement and empowerment.
