About Anthony Akator
Anthony Akator Jr. is a freshman at Williams College. He is a prospective double major in political science and history. At school, Anthony serves as the freshman representative for the Society of the Griffins, an affinity for Black men at his college. Through the Cortico on Campus fellowship, he leads and participates in discussions geared towards addressing the challenges Black youth face pursuing higher education. During his freshman fall, Anthony was a contributing writer for both the Williams Liberal Arts Law Journal and the Williams Journal of Foreign Affairs. He also is an active member of his school’s Moot Court team. Outside of school, Anthony serves as the Chair of Region I for the Youth and College Division of the NAACP, the Recruitment Chair of the Youth Advisory Council of Citizens & Scholars, and is a member of the Gilder Lehrman Undergraduate Advisory Council. Anthony is deeply interested in all things pertaining to history, politics, and the rule of law. Specifically, Anthony seeks to understand how academia, policymakers, and community organizers can strengthen the rule of law and democratic institutions at home and abroad. In his free time, Anthony enjoys listening to music (mainly Hip-Hop, Jazz, and R&B), watching documentaries, reading fiction, and playing soccer with friends. Aspirationally, he hopes to pursue a career in public service as a federal prosecutor.
