ABOUT ANTHI PAPOULI

I am a PhD student in AI in Medical Imaging in the department of Computer Science at UCL, where I focus on generating synthetic contrast MRI for sustainable and equal healthcare for brain tumours and MS patients.Previously, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Hawkes Institute at UCL, focusing on the application of normative modelling in medical imaging for Alzheimer\'s disease.I am driven by the potential to bridge my skills in AI with my deep interest in neuroscience, aiming to contribute to earlier diagnosis, better treatment planning, and improved outcomes for patients with neurological and neurodegenerative conditions.I completed my Masters in AI for Biomedicine and Healthcare at UCL, following a BSc in Biological Sciences from Imperial College London. My academic journey equipped me with a solid foundation in computational biology, bioinformatics, and AI, fuelling my drive to explore how cutting-edge technologies can unravel complex biological and neurological systems. I am particularly passionate about leveraging machine learning algorithms and computational tools to unlock meaningful insights from biomedical data, with a focus on transforming healthcare and scientific discovery.Beyond my current research, I was the co-founder and AI Lead of OncoFlow, a startup dedicated to streamlining breast cancer treatment selection in the NHS. In this role, I oversaw the development of AI models and lead a team of engineers in creating and implementing the technology that drives our mission to improve clinical decision-making processes.I am eager to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and make a meaningful impact in the fields of neuroscience, computational biology, and bioinformatics, driving innovation at the intersection of AI and healthcare.
