ABOUT ANTHONY BAKER

I’m a Jersey City native who got my start in the industry bartending my way through college, and quickly grew a passion for bartending and hospitality. Even after graduating college and landing a financial analyst job, I found himself yearning to get back into hospitality, but more importantly back behind the bar. My first stop back into Hospitality was at the Crosby Street Hotel and I quickly began to climb the industry ladder moving on to help lead the bar program at RedFarm, then opening up The Grill (Major Food Group), and shortly after becoming the Drinks Tournant at The Aviary NYC. I credit my time at The Aviary for amplifying my culinary approach to cocktails which began at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, along with my ability to create programs for both cocktails & bar operations. Next, I served as a consultant to various restaurants creating innovative cocktail programs; taught and trained students on how to be skillful bartenders; then established myself to be a Cocktail Professor at Liquor Lab NYC, while launching my shoe brand designed specifically for bartenders called “ISSHOES”.Due to the pandemic, I briefly had to put my entire career on a halt and focused on giving virtual cocktail classes via Cozymeal, ambitious to teach everyone how to become their own home bartender. This is where I began to promote myself as an Instagram personality using the account @Professor.Baker.But now, post-covid, I’m back on the field overseeing the entire bar program for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. And although I’m regarded as an authority when it comes to creating cocktails, I’m typically known for my big personality and making guests smile before I even offer them their first drink.
