About Ansley Barry

I am a 4th-year honors student at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga majoring in communications, French, and international studies with a minor in environmental studies.Two of my biggest passions include environmental conservation efforts and fostering global connections. On campus, I am involved in an array of extracurriculars focusing in these area, including being a part of organizations such as environmental decisions for a global environment (EDGE), and the sustainable student initiative (S3). I am also vice president of the French club and an honors\' ambassador for the UTC honors\' college. I believe that traveling can be one of the most enriching experiences a person can have. I had the opportunity to spend the spring semester of 2024 abroad studying the French language in Grenoble, France. Upon returning my junior year, I began working at the UTC study abroad office as a Global Student Ambassador, in which I aid in promotional and informational activities for potential study abroad students, including tabling, creating and hosting events, holding peer advising sessions with students, and assisting with pre-departure orientations. I\'m not only connected with American students looking to go abroad, but I\'m also actively involved in International Student club and aid in their orientation as they move in to UTC.

   In this position, I have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of duties as a communications intern including creating and posting social media content, photographing and videoing activities and events, and designing, copywriting, and distributing press releases, E-news, and website content.
