Formulating and implementing comprehensive safety policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and industry best practices.• Organizing and conducting training sessions for employees on fire safety, emergency response procedures, handling hazardous materials, and other safety protocols.• Conducting regular inspections and risk assessments of work areas to identify potential hazards and implementing measures to mitigate risks.• Overseeing the installation and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems, conducting fire drills, and ensuring proper functioning of fire safety equipment.• Developing emergency response plans for various scenarios such as fire outbreaks, chemical spills, natural disasters, etc. Coordinating with relevant departments to ensure effective implementation of these plans.• Ensuring compliance with all relevant fire safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards. Keeping abreast of changes in regulations and implementing necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.• Investigating accidents, incidents, or near-misses to determine root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.• Promoting a culture of safety among employees through awareness campaigns, posters, newsletters, and other communication channels.• Liaising with local fire departments, regulatory agencies, and other external stakeholders on matters related to fire safety and emergency preparedness.• Directly supervising a team of safety officers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective performance in their roles.• Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance activities. Generating reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.• Monitoring safety performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement. Implementing initiatives to enhance safety standards and reduce risks across the organization.
