After 15+ years in leadership roles across Taj Hotels and Sony Pictures, I found myself returning to a question that had quietly stayed with me throughout my career: Can decision-making actually be made measurable, teachable, and improvable?Despite billions of decisions being made every day, decision quality is largely invisible.We rarely have a baseline, a time-series, or a way to understand how clarity, bias, emotion, or reasoning shape the choices we make.That curiosity eventually led me to start Decision Design Lab™ (DDL).DDL is a Decision Intelligence ecosystem where behavioural science, reflection, and AI come together to explore a simple idea: what if we could understand how people think before they decide?At the centre of this work is SelfSignal™, a Reflection Intelligence system designed to measure clarity, emotional tone, bias signals, and evolving decision patterns from real human reflection over time.Unlike most AI systems that focus on generating answers, SelfSignal focuses on understanding how humans think - not just what they decide.This is the early architecture of what we describe as a Decision OS for reflective decision evolution.Our work has recently been invited for incubation at IIM Mumbai and recognised with a feature page at the Economic Times AI Awards 2025.The ambition behind all of this is simple but meaningful: to democratise decision intelligence and make clarity, reflection, and fairness everyday capabilities.And because decisions are deeply human stories, I also explore them through Dee & Sig, a decision-science comic series that captures the inner dialogue between logic and emotion that many of us experience when making choices.If you\'re curious to explore the work further:SelfSignal™ – Founder’s Notehttps://selfsignal.ai/founders-noteDecision Design Lab – Philosophy & Research Foundationshttps://decisiondesignlab.com/our-philosophy
