About Annmarie Easy

Hello! My name is Annmarie Easy and I am a recent graduate of the University of Southern California where I majored in Political Science and minored in East Asian Language and Culture, and International and Public Management. As the world becomes more globalized, learning about other country\'s policies, cultural practices, and norms is increasingly vital. Understanding these things will aid greatly in cross-cultural projects and make engagement with people from different backgrounds easier. Even though I have a good understanding of different people and places, I focus specifically on the regions of Africa and Asia. Apart from my ties to the African continent as a First Generation Ghanaian-Jamaican American, I believe that even though Africa and some parts of Asia have been left behind, in the future, they will be a source of great innovation and development and I eventually want to aid in that. As mentioned before, my areas of study give me the cultural consciousness needed to work with people of different backgrounds, and that is apparent in the work I do today. As the former Co-Executive Director of USC’s Black Student Assembly, I focus on making SC more welcoming and comfortable for Black Students. With an executive board of around 30 people, we plan big and small events to foster a beautiful community for Black Students. In addition to that, we work on connecting our black community with the greater Los Angeles area. I also formally worked as a Community Engagement Leader for USC’s Admissions Office. In this position, I work with a diverse group of people in the admissions office to encourage students of color to apply and attend the university. We do this through videos and open houses aimed at showcasing the spaces on campus that are made for the betterment and comfort of our students of color. I’m currently interested in the jobs surrounding Law and Paralegal work, Project/Product Management, People Operations, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and policy however, I’m more than open to a variety of different career paths that allow me to apply the skills and experiences I’ve developed through my work in the USC BSA, USC admissions office, and a plethora of other jobs and leadership roles.    1) Lead Chamber On-the-Go, a mobile business support initiative delivering on-site assistance to small businesses across Manhattan commercial districts.2) Conduct in-field outreach and engage directly with 100+ small businesses, assessing operational needs and identifying growth opportunities.3) Connected business owners with free NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) resources, Chamber programs, and local partner organizations, referring 20+ businesses to SBS for follow-up services, consultations, and compliance support.4) Facilitate on-site visits and provide immediate guidance, resource navigation, and appointment scheduling for continued business support.5) Collect qualitative feedback from business owners to inform Chamber programming, advocacy efforts, and community initiatives.6) Build and maintain strong relationships with local business owners, community partners, and city agencies.
