ABOUT ANNIE SMITH

I am a curious and driven audience producer with extensive experience in managing social accounts and curating homepages, pushes, and newsletters while considering different global audiences.As an Associate Audience Producer at Business Insider, I consistently manage our homepage and push strategy with success, demonstrating a keen understanding of audience needs and preferences and optimising content for various social platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and more. I also suggest timely story ideas, present insights in newsroom meetings and directly with editors, and analyse data to improve our current practices. Along with a Masters of Arts in English and Spanish from the University of St Andrews, I also hold a Masters of Arts in News Journalism from Cardiff University, where I gained valuable experience with and knowledge of topics such as packaging stories for publication, proofreading and copyediting, and editing photo and video with Adobe Creative Cloud and other video-editing software. This was coupled with NCTJ accreditation, the achievement of 100wpm in Teeline shorthand, and notable modules including Public Administration, Media Law, Data Journalism, and Investigative Journalism.
