About Annie Philip
A corporate lawyer turned waste warrior. I started my professional life working in some of the best lawfirms in India where I advised on private equity investments and M&A. But the need to do something meaningful for the environment prevailed and that brought me to the waste sector. In the last 5 years I have- worked with various government departments on policies and regulations on waste management - headed on-ground projects for improving municipal waste systems - advised companies on their extended producer responsibilities - held workshops on building capacities of different stakeholders in the waste sector - developed content on holistic and inclusive waste management - collaborated with various international, national and local stakeholders to devise solutions for different waste streams. The sheer diversity and scale of work in the waste sector makes it very exciting and challenging. And I am looking forward to seeing where this journey leads to.
