About Annie Effinger
I hold a Master of Science in Marine Biology with a focus in Biological Oceanography and Invertebrate Ecology from Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. My thesis studied Zooplankton Grazing in the California Current Ecosystem, as part of the CCE LTER research program. I participated as a lead scientist in the recent CCE LTER process cruise from February-March 2024. I am passionate about marine food webs and understanding the transfer of carbon through an ecosystem. I am currently open and looking for research/work opportunities. I have over three years of wet lab experience handling various marine invertebrates, visualizing biological data, and running statistical analyses. With the changing climate, I understand the importance of studying our marine ecosystems in order to protect and preserve the environment and the unique organisms that play important roles in ecosystem function.Aside from school, I am an avid rock climber and photographer, both nature and portraiture. You will often find me outdoors or in a climbing gym with friends!
