About Annie Combs
While studying how different tourism frameworks can impact environmental preservation at the University of California, Santa Barbara\'s Bren School of the Environment, I created the framework for a sustainable travel standard that includes local socioeconomic well-being as an indicator of a healthy tourism system. In addition to my research, I have contributed to sustainable tourism consulting projects, lectured about the intersection of justice and the sustainable tourism movement, and advised teams of sustainably-focused founders in college and graduate school. I currently serve as the founder and CEO of ECPC Travel: an online platform that leverages my proprietary sustainability scoring mechanism to onboard, qualify, and screen independent providers worldwide, building a comprehensive dataset of qualified professionals while ensuring both environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
