ABOUT ANNIE CLAPP

My name is Annie Clapp, and I am pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant with over 2 years of experience in the Health Science field. I am currently working to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Health Science at Drexel University, where I expect to graduate in June of 2027. In addition to my educational efforts, I work as an Exercise Technician at a physical therapy clinic. As an aspiring Physician Assistant, I have developed a strong passion for healthcare and patient advocacy. The coursework I have completed at Drexel University has equipped me with foundational knowledge and skill sets needed in this industry. Courses such as Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology have prepared me to understand the structure and function of the human body, while Microbiology developed my critical lab skills such as microscope use, streak plating, and staining techniques. Health and Human Rights has highlighted the importance of patient autonomy and prepared me to face ethical dilemmas. Outside of academics, I am currently working as an Exercise Technician and volunteering in the Philadelphia area. These experiences have allowed me to apply the skills I have learned thus far in a professional setting. As a member of the Women’s Soccer team at Drexel, I have enhanced my collaboration, leadership, and time management skills. While I continue my time at Drexel, I will be pursing certifications such as CPR, First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS). Following the completion of my undergraduate experience at Drexel, I aim to attend graduate school where I will study to become a Physician Assistant. During this time, I hope to continue to gain hands on experience working as a medical assistant. Ultimately, I want to use my knowledge and skillset to provide patient-centered care specializing in orthopedic surgery at a group practice.
