Works with the Senior Leadership Team to develop the Company’s strategic bargaining direction;• Leads engagement with employee groups and union representatives that focuses on communication, planning and problem solving to ensure excellent employee and labour relations;• Serves as the main liaison between the union and management for labour-related matters, resolving disputes and handling employee grievances efficiently in a multi-union environment• Manages Labour Management Committee meetings, and ensure timely follow up of agreed to action items• Develops and delivers on workforce planning strategies to ensure the level and skill mix of people are in place to effectively deliver operations;• Educates client groups to ensure they have a good understanding of the collective agreement through informal discussions and formal seminars• Leads, coaches and develops the Employee and Labour Relations specialists to improve skills, knowledge, ability, and capability, encourage use of leading practices and demonstrate a passion for creating a culture defined by service excellence.• Leads negotiations for collective bargaining agreements (CBA) with unions, including preparation for negotiations, leading employer committee, and negotiations• Monitors changes to labour laws, union policies, and transportation regulations that could affect labour relations and workforce management• Represents the company in arbitration, mediation, and other legal proceedings related to labour disputes• Strengthen the organizational capabilities by challenging the status quo to achieve a high performing HR function.• Prepares mandate and proposals, drafts provisions and be the advisor and first chair in the collective bargaining agreement negotiations• Identify cross-functional challenges and opportunities and ensure effective and successful value-added solutions that maximize outcomes.• Experience providing guidance, support and team leadership to peers and supporting roles
