Annette Kenney is an experienced and visionary Business Leader, Consultant and Board Member focused on driving strategy, growth and transformation in the healthcare sector. She is a strategic thought leader passionate about delivering a positive impact on health systems, their patients and the communities they serve. In addition to her work with provider organizations, Annette leverages her deep understanding of the healthcare ecosystem to advise venture portfolio and early to mid-stage technology companies on their investment, product development and growth strategies.Prior to her current role as an independent consultant and Principal of Kenney Consulting, LLC, Annette served as Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer for Endeavor Health (formerly NorthShore – Edward-Elmhurst Health), a $6 Billion health system with 9 hospitals, an extensive ambulatory network, and one of the largest employed physician groups and Clinically Integrated Networks in Illinois. Here, she was accountable for enterprise strategy development and execution, including mergers and acquisitions, ambulatory and physician network development, service-line expansion and revenue growth strategies. She managed the Departments of Strategy & Business Development, Marketing, Philanthropy, Government Relations and Community Impact & Engagement. She oversaw prioritization of multiyear strategic capital budget to drive system growth and differentiation as well as a $200 million Community Investment Fund to support investments in community-based programs. This followed her time in health strategy consulting and in system leadership roles of increasing responsibility, culminating in Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer for Edward-Elmhurst Health. She facilitated the merger of Edward and Elmhurst Hospitals and the ultimate merger of Edward-Elmhurst Health with NorthShore University Health System. She also executed strategies that substantially grew the organization’s footprint, strengthened its service lines and solidified its market position across metropolitan Chicago, meanwhile actively supporting innovation through digital transformation and new venture investment.Annette’s extensive Board experience includes serving as a Board Member for North Central College (Investment Committee, Academic Affairs Committee, Governance Task Force), Illinois Health Partners, Edward-Elmhurst Health Venture Capital, Plainfield Surgery Center, Smart Choice MRI, and JourneyCare Hospice and Palliative Care (Co-Chair of Strategic Planning Committee).
