About Anne M H Hunter
After relocating from Minneapolis to central Virginia in fall 2019, I had the great fortune to become the executive director of Live Arts, the largest performing arts organization in Charlottesville. It\'s my dream job because it combines my love of theater, commitment to community building, and desire to serve the nonprofit sector in a meaningful way. Before joining Live Arts, I served as interim president of the $10M Minnesota Humanities Center. I’m told that I was well positioned for the role, having spent most of my career advising or leading nonprofit organizations across the US. It’s work that inspired me. Founded in 1990, Live Arts is remarkable community theater in Charlottesville, Virginia. It is powered by nearly 1,200 volunteers and led by a dedicated board of 18 community leaders and theater fans, all of whom are committed to \"forging theater and community.\" Like them, I am inspired by the ghostlight in the lobby, which reminds us that Live Arts is a space for ALL people to convene and create.
