ABOUT ANNE FRIEDMAN

I’ve spent more than a decade working in the nonprofit sector, with a background spanning philanthropy, organizational growth, and community-based work.As Executive Director of Gay For Good, I became the organization’s first-ever employee and have spent the past seven years scaling it into a national LGBTQ+ volunteer network. Since 2018, I’ve grown Gay For Good from 10 to 23 cities, expanded the operating budget from to annually, and helped strengthen governance, strategy, and sustainability in partnership with a dedicated board and volunteer leaders.My role blends leadership with hands-on work. I oversee fundraising, donor and partner relationships, communications, volunteer engagement, events, and day-to-day nonprofit operations, while also supporting board governance and long-term organizational health. Much of my work focuses on building systems, supporting volunteer-led chapters, and ensuring the organization can grow sustainably while staying rooted in community.Before Gay For Good, I spent five years at a community foundation, gaining deep experience in philanthropy, donor relations, grantmaking, and nonprofit capacity-building—experience that continues to shape how I approach leadership today.I’m motivated by work that brings people together, builds community, and creates meaningful opportunities to give back.
