ABOUT ANNEMARIE LUCAS

With over 30 years in academic medicine at Michigan Medicine, I have built a career advancing the tripartite mission of exceptional clinical care, innovative research, and education. I hold a Master’s in Health Services Administration (MHSA) from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. As a certified executive coach and Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE, earned 2024), I focus on fostering high-performing teams that drive excellence in patient outcomes and organizational success.I serve as Administrator of the University of Michigan Health Transplant Center. It is the largest and oldest multi-organ transplant center in Michigan and uniquely serves both adult and pediatric patients. We deliver life-changing care through high-volume programs, cutting-edge innovations in organ preservation, and a commitment to expanding access.Passionate about the profound impact of organ donation, I believe in the power of second chances. Each transplant transforms lives and restores hope for patients and families. I am a dedicated advocate for transplant care. I serve on the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) Operations and Safety Committee and chair its Donor Testing Workgroup. My goals include reducing barriers to care, enhancing experiences for patients and providers, and ensuring world-class treatments reach Michiganders wherever they live.Prior to this role, I gained broad leadership experience across Michigan Medicine in the medical school, psychiatry, ambulatory care, and hospital operations. This honed my skills in integration, strategic growth, and team development. I am energized by mentoring and coaching healthcare leaders to build resilient teams and navigate change. Outside work, I enjoy golf, yoga, and camping with family and friends.I welcome connections with healthcare leaders, transplant professionals, or those interested in executive coaching. Let’s discuss innovation in transplantation, team excellence, or organ donation. Reach out!
