As the Chief Auditor and leader of the ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) program at Sabre, I lead a team of audit and risk professionals who administer the Sarbanes-Oxley program on behalf of management, the execution of operational, risk-based audits, and the delivery of ERM for the organization. In our first year, I have led the team in establishing- An Internal Audit Strategy focused on four main pillars: 1) Leadership and Development: Increasing professional certifications and designations, improving the team\'s understanding of Sabre\'s business, and targeting training gaps needed to effectively audit the risks in the organization.2) A Balanced Audit Plan: Completing an enterprise-wide risk assessment which informs our annual audit plan, reducing hours spent on Sarbanes Oxley testing through testing efficiencies, increasing the use of analytics and automation in our work, and dedicating hours to the ERM program.3) Stakeholder Engagement: Implementing a structured, ongoing approach to stakeholder engagement which includes marketing the function\'s services to the organization and partnering with the business leaders to understand their risks and needs. 4) A Modernized Audit and Risk function: Increasing the use of analytics and automation in our work, establishing SOX testing that addresses the risks through more efficient testing approaches, implementing an Audit Management System, designing playbooks for both OPs Audit, QAIP, ERM, and SOX.
