About Anne Collier
Non-profit executive, youth advocate, writer, safety adviser and consultant to social media platforms for more than 20 years; strategy lead for the first regulatory sandbox in the field of child online safety co-editor of Social Media and Youth Mental Health, published by the American Psychiatric Association in 2024; piloted a social media helpline for schools in the US 2015-\'17 (https://socialmediahelpline.com). Excited to be on the development team of the COR regulatory sandbox (https://corsandbox.org)- a cross-sector, cross-border, cross-generation instrument to advance child online wellbeing using a child rights-based methodology grounded in Art. 12 of the UNCRC (“nothing about us without us”). Working since to help advance and balance the public discussion about protecting youth AND their rights of participation, Anne served on many platforms\' safety advisory boards, currently those of Roblox, Yubo and YouTube, and has served on three US national task forces on youth online safety, having co-chaired the Online Safety Technology Working Group under the Obama administration\'s NTIA. She serves on the board of the National Association for Media Literacy Education and advises the Young & Resilient Research Center in Sydney, Australia. Anne has co-authored books, chapters and academic papers on youth digital practices, mental health and wellbeing, human dignity in cyberbullying prevention and family context for online safety. She gave a TEDx talk at the World Summit on the Information Society Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, in 2016 entitled \"The Heart of Digital Citizenship\"(https://bit.ly/38yHsiy).
