ABOUT ANNE C. JOHNSON
Anne C. Johnson (she/her) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who received her master’s degree from the University of Minnesota. Prior to her work with Canopy Mental Health Consulting, Anne spent 5+ years working at an adolescent day treatment. She has held several positions during her tenure on the day treatment team, such as, therapist, treatment coordinator, and program supervisor. This past spring, Anne was hired as an Adjunct Faculty member for the School of Social Work at the University of Minnesota-Duluth where she taught “Anti-oppressive Social Work Practice”. Anne also worked in private practice as a psychotherapist at Enliven Psychotherapy in St. Paul, Minnesota. Throughout her work Anne uses a client-centered and strengths-based approach by offering an emotionally safe space for personal growth and discovery. Anne also utilizes the framework of intersectionality when working with marginalized or oppressed populations. From 20••••16, Anne was employed at MN ADOPT (formerly known as Minnesota Adoption Resource Network) by supporting adoptive, foster, and kinship parents and the professionals who care for them. Over the course of her time at MN ADOPT, Anne served as Adoption Specialist, Training Coordinator, and Program Manager and was actively involved in starting the first state-funded initiative called, Adoptees Have Answers (AHA), an all-adoptees staffed program for adoptees. Prior to her work in social and human services, Anne was a motivational speaker, as well as an Educational Supervisor and National Trainer in southern California. Anne brings 18+ years of professional experience managing and coaching teams to successful outcomes. She is a licensed supervisor approved by the Minnesota Board of Social Work and holds a Bachelor of Art’s degree in communication from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
