ABOUT ANNE WAPLE
No matter what political sphere you inhabit, it\'s my experience that we almost all care about where we live - the land and the community. And it\'s so easy to fall into despair about what\'s happening around us - from social injustice to environmental destruction - especially when we\'re bombarded by distressing images and stories every day. It\'s also easy to believe that we have neither the tools, nor the influence to do much about it. Well, for me, action starts with getting curious - about ourselves AND our activities: From our career aspirations to what we plant in our back yards, from our education to what\'s on our plate, from our friendships to what buildings we live in, from our hobbies to how we get around - it all coalesces to become part of our next chapter. What if we got to explore these areas of our lives - the people, planet, and places we care about - in a way that helps us generate more positive impact? My career spans 25 years of research, communications, scientific assessment, and managing climate and sustainability-focused programs. I have worked for the government, for nonprofits, and now have my own organization. Although the work we do at Waple Research and Consulting centers mostly on climate change assessment and climate risk, at its core, it\'s really about Connection, Compassion, and Curiosity.
