About Anne Perry
I’m an Assistant Chief Medical Officer at Utah Valley Hospital (Canyons Region) with a career rooted in hospitalist medicine, clinical quality, and learner development. I lead patient safety and departmental quality committees, author a monthly provider newsletter, and partner widely to improve mortality and reliability—translating system goals into bedside results. I help grow GME/UME programs and hospitalist education: building clerkship curricula, mentoring new leaders, and creating rotations so trainees gain practical, team‑based skills on high‑acuity services. I’ve served as Medical Staff President, collaborated on LCME‑related workgroups, and contributed to our hospital’s Vizient #2 ranking in 2023. Operationally, I’ve doubled our hospitalist team from 21 to 40 providers, increased admissions routed to hospitalists from 40% to 65%, and maintained top case‑mix index performance with best cost per case. Program improvements include geographic rounding on T6 (raising LTR from 48 to 91), a subcutaneous insulin protocol for mild–moderate DKA, and a cardiology–hospitalist co‑management model; I also support trauma and respiratory initiatives across committees. I’m ABIM‑board certified, trained in internal medicine (University of Utah, OHSU), and hold an MBA (Southern Utah University). I’ve served as adjunct clinical faculty, delivered invited talks on COVID‑19, DKA, and perioperative geriatrics, and co‑authored work presented at SHM Converge.Beyond the hospital, I lead community service projects and have provided international medical relief in Haiti and Nepal. When the mountains call, I’m likely on a bike or skis; I’ve raced competitively with national and world masters titles
