ABOUT ANNE MARIE GORMAN
Ms. Gorman has been focused on China for over 35 years, beginning with her immersion in Chinese language and history just after President Nixon’s 1972 entrée into China. She was a member of the first group of multinational law students that studied Chinese and Comparative Law in 1984 at two of China’s most prestigious universities, Beijing and Fudan University. After many years in corporate and litigation practices, in 2008 she returned to her dream of living in China, relocating to Shanghai and transitioning into a corporate counsel role with a start-up Chinese company. She secured that job in a most unusual method by thinking outside the box, which is one of her strongest attributes. Ms. Gorman is excited about China\'s future, loves practicing law, is invigorated when growing a business, and is always looking for means to further bridge relationships between China and the US. Her breadth of skills makes Ms. Gorman a valuable resource and proven leader for multinational companies operating in China, as well as Chinese companies entering international markets. She has expertise in all manners of cross-border commercial transactions and has lead teams to implement fast-paced corporate growth through targeted strategic alliances and multi-year manufacturing agreements. Her many years in-house experience with a Chinese company has honed her expertise in guiding Chinese companies to success in international operations. In addition to her legal and business acumen, Ms. Gorman has developed an extensive network in China. She is frequently invited to serve as a panelist on diverse topics including cross-border transactions and executive business management roles. She has founded a women\'s professional networking organization that serves over 140 women in diverse industries and become active in Rotary International to serve the charitable needs of China. Ms. Gorman is both a leader and a team player, a lawyer and a business person, a visionary and an achiever.
