ABOUT ANNE LARSON

Over 25 years of experience in research and action on natural resource and environmental governance, rights and livelihoods in developing countries, with over 100 publications, including 60+ peer reviewed journal articles, 18 (14 first authored) of which have over 100 and up to citations, and a dozen books. Ranked in top 2% of scientists globally (Stanford most cited scientists rankings). Four outstanding journal article awards. Specific expertise in land and forest tenure rights, indigenous rights, decentralization, gender. High competency in, and commitment to, developing programs for targeted outcome and impact in multiple arenas (policy, academia, practice) and from global to local. Committed to mentorship of young scientists, especially women and those from the global South, and to producing knowledge in ways that support grassroots advocacy and policy change. Training in impact pathways, theories of change and difference-in-difference impact assessment. 15+ years in senior positions (Team Leader, Principal Scientist, Senior Scientist, Senior Associate) managing diverse, multicultural and multidisciplinary global teams for research and engagement. 25+ years of international experience, conducting, coordinating or collaborating on work-related activities in more than two dozen low and middle-income countries. Served on the Board of Directors of the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI), the Council of the International Land Coalition (ILC) and the Council of the International Association for the Study of the Commons (IASC).
