ABOUT ANNE-CATHERINE BAJARD

I am an activist for human rights, for equity, for diversity, and our role in the ecosystem. I believe in listening to people\'s voices and recognizing that every individual is a mosaic in themselves. We are multidimensional. And we live in a world of multidimensional inequality. Connecting people, connecting experience and knowledge, that is my passion and strength. My experience as manager, director and researcher includes gender justice, community economic development, education and governance, identity and ethnicity, community economic development, public health and sanitation. I have also worked in humanitarian contexts, the 2014-15 Ebola crisis in Liberia, 2010 post-earthquake Haiti and socio-economic crises again in Haiti 2018-19. I am a strategic thinker: context-driven, future-looking, multi-focus, deductive, systemic, those are the words that best describe me. I focus on movement building and alliances towards policy development, advocacy, structural causes and solutions, combining immediate and strategic needs. I am in continuous learning mode from colleagues, allies and partners such as the domestic workers of Bolivia, the indigenous peoples of South America, youth movements in Liberia, the community economic development network of Canada, the alternative media in Haiti, women\'s rights, indigenous rights and human rights organisations in West Africa, Latin America, North America and Europe. French, Spanish and English with native fluency.
