A senior specialist physiotherapist in the Oxford Hand Therapy Unit with both plastics and complex orthopaedic experience. I treat highly complex hand conditions including nerve and muscle transfers, replants, poly trauma to the hand and forearm and complex wrist rehabilitation.Team management, including teaching and supervision. I mentor hand therapists within the department and teach to registrars in the plastic surgery department. Presented a research paper at the International conference for hand therapists in Orlando, Florida (June 2010); and again in London in 2022. Have recently received and internship grant from NIHR to research outcomes after injury to the PIPJ of the fingers. Lectured at joint BSSH and BAHT meeting (October 2013) on muscle transfers for radial nerve injuries.Have published papers and poster presentations.

ABOUT ANNE ALEXANDER
Anne is an experienced Physiotherapist with over 20 years of working in the hospital & health care industry. Primary area of expertise is hand therapy and the upper quadrant with a particular interest in treating climbers and musicians. A strong research professional, she was the Primary Investigator at the Trust for the FIRST trial, alongside small scale original research projects of interest, and she has recently received an internship research grant from NIHR, Oxford to look at outcomes after injuries to the PIPJ of the finger. Highly skilled in diagnosis, manual therapy, exercise prescription, injury prevention, peripheral nerve and thoracic outlet rehabilitation. Anne has recently set up a new private practice in Oxford and as she plays French horn and this is part of the reason she happily treats all musicians with hand, arm, shoulder and upper quadrant problems.
