About Anna Williams

I have always been a technical person and love solving problems, which is why I pursued a degree in engineering. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh\'s Swanson School of Engineering with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, I chose to join Hatch, an engineering consulting firm. I love the idea of working in a team setting to solve a problem and work towards the common goal of successfully helping the client.After working at Hatch for two years I decided that I wanted to switch gears and work in the industry that I had been consulting for, manufacturing, in order to gain hands on experience. I moved to Neville Chemical Company where I held leadership and teammate positions. I managed both small and large capital and maintenance projects involving a lot of cross discipline personnel including engineering, union labor, marketing, R&D, and accounting, which required a lot of collaboration and organization. I managed and worked on various projects with seemingly no viable solution and had to use innovative and creative thinking to get the job done successfully and safely. Being a smaller manufacturing company, I was given the opportunity to work in various roles in the company, from aiding in market reviews to aiding in costing of products, I was able to expand my experience beyond engineering alone. It was this success and experience in my engineering career coupled with my skillset that convinced me to further my education and join CMU\'s Tepper School of Business as an MBA candidate. I know an MBA degree will allow me to build upon my prior experience and skills and allow me to expand the possibilities of my career.
