SONI is Northern Ireland\'s electricity Transmission System Operator. As we enhance the electricity grid, we ensure a more secure and sustainable energy future. Our role is to ensure that power can flow safely, securely and reliably from where it is generated to where it is needed.We have an important role in planning for Northern Ireland\'s future energy needs, working together with Eirgrid, our counterparts in the Republic of Ireland. We also operate the all-island wholesale electricity market through SEMO.
