I serve as the technical team coordinator and lead digital curator for all the linguistic and multimedia data on the Living Dictionaries platform. Led by community activists and linguists, Living Dictionaries are collaborative multimedia projects that are editable, expandable, and searchable. Using the latest web technologies to facilitate the creation and storage of language data paired with digital images, audio and video recordings of native speakers, the platform is user-friendly and available in fourteen interface languages. Living Dictionaries promote visibility for under-resourced languages, foster connectivity over vast distances, and support an online community of language learners who wish to access a language without proximity to proficient speakers. The Living Dictionaries platform also provides meaningful opportunities for Indigenous citizen science through regular training webinars.

ABOUT ANNA LUISA DAIGNEAULT
Linguistic anthropologist focused on Indigenous languages and responsible AI, writer, musician, and TEDx speaker. Research professional with 16 years of experience conducting fieldwork, serving as a trusted liaison between Indigenous communities and research teams, coordinating scientific projects, collecting and processing data, as well as leading technical teams. I have extensive experience training citizen-linguists around the world to conduct documentation projects and have archived many collections of endangered language materials. I have a passion for community-driven projects that benefit grassroots groups. In particular, I work on developing multilingual technology (such as the Living Dictionaries platform) that can help safeguard under-represented languages.My languages are English, Spanish and French, and I am also reclaiming one of my heritage languages, Quechua (an indigenous language of the Andes) by learning it online. I am also taking beginner-level courses to learn Innu-aimun, an Indigenous language of Québec.Outside of academia, I am a recording artist and music producer who has released three albums of original music on my own label, as well as dozens of singles on record labels worldwide. I am a member of a electronic folk trio of women musicians.
