ABOUT ANNALISE BOWEN

I suppose you’re all wondering why I\'ve gathered you here today. It is to entertain and delight, while humble-bragging about my accomplishments. Emphasis on the bragging. I am that person you meet at the party who is introducing herself and instantly making friends and connections, but not in the politician get-ahead sort of way. I jumped into the insurance industry in my sophomore year of college, greeted by friendly faces telling me this is the land of relationships, where there is a seat for everyone at the table and a stable income. Upon graduating from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Mathematics and Risk Management and Insurance, I started my Underwriting career at ICAT, where I had just previously completed an internship the summer before. Just as the state of Colorado had, ICAT pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me so much for the first three years of my career, namely with E&S insurance and the unique view underwriters have of the world. I have completed analysis, worked cross-functionally with all departments, and even presented to large groups internally and externally. I have won customer service awards and had the wonderful opportunity to serve on the Core Values team. I am the complete package of fun, intelligent and hard working. During COVID, I was afforded the opportunity to move back home to Charleston, SC, where I could be closer to family. After a mandate to come back to the office, I decided to look for other opportunities that would allow me to stay in SC. AmRisc found me through some of my relationships in the industry and provided me with said opportunity. I began underwriting on the Online team. Through constant volunteering at the company, I was lucky enough to serve on the Marketing council, the Talent Outreach council, be a mentee in our internal mentoring program, and present at company-wide events. I have always loved meeting people, connecting with others, and bringing people together. AmRisc is not only a top company in our industry, we are also top tier at bringing people together. A lot of us work remotely, which can strain relationships and connections, which is why I was blown away at the events AmRisc puts on. I became interested in being a part of them. I was lucky enough to be recommended by my former bosses for my current position - Marketing & Events Specialist. I am so thankful for all that I am learning in this new role, it has exceptionally increased my understanding of the market. But enough about me, I hope to connect with you soon!
