ABOUT ANNA HERMANSEN
I am a researcher and the ecosystem manager of the Linux Foundation\'s research program, where I support end-to-end management of all our research projects. I am responsible for conducting some of this research, including the now-published Hyperledger 2023 brand study and a study on open source for health data interoperability. During my Master\'s degree at UBC\'s School of Population and Public Health, I studied patient preferences for sharing personal health data. I am particularly interested in how individuals make data-sharing decisions, what kind of risk-benefit assessments are made, and how heuristics and cognitive biases may impact the decision. I\'m also interested in the ethics and implications of technology in healthcare, specifically in the role blockchain can play in health data management to solve interoperability and data privacy challenges. I am a generalist with experience that includes qualitative research, focus group recruitment and facilitation, project management, academic and copy writing, designing and managing websites, and building and managing teams. I am currently completing my MSc thesis at UBC\'s School of Population and Public Health. Previous to my Master\'s, I was working in the enterprise blockchain space in Toronto. I am an International Relations alumna from the University of British Columbia.
