Argotec for European Space Agency (ESA)European Astronaut Centre (EAC)I lead medical operations for radiation protection at the European Space Agency (ESA) to ensure astronaut safety on International Space Station (ISS) missions and spearhead future ESA crewed space endeavors beyond Low Earth Orbit, such as the Artemis and Gateway programs. My role encompasses the management and development of operational hardware and software, as well as the training of astronauts and associated personnel.I represent ESA in international collaborations on crewed radiation protection, establishing cutting-edge standards for upcoming space missions. This includes setting radiation dose limits, support designing radiation shielding, and overseeing crew dosimetry. I work closely with other ESA teams, including the Human Exploration Science Team, to align radiation research programs with ESA\'s exploration objectives.Additionally, I lead a multidisciplinary and international research team dedicated to advancing scientific understanding for better radiation health risk assessments. I engage actively with scientific communities and the general public to communicate developments in space sciences and ESA\'s initiatives.
