ABOUT ANNA DE PAOLI

With over a decade of experience starting, growing and advocating for agribusinesses through my company, De Paoli & Associates Inc, I’ve had the privilege of helping clients navigate complex negotiations with both government and private entities to grow successful businesses that help support the rural economy in Alberta. My journey began with a simple belief: that to have viable rural communities, we need to have great businesses that provide good jobs. At DPA we’ve successfully advocated for numerous initiatives in the Agribusiness sectors in support of our mission. From successful grant applications to developing joint venture projects to advocating for changes, we’re proud of what we have achieved. Most importantly we have developing lasting friendships with a wide range of amazing people working in and around the Agribusiness industry. As a result of these relationships, I am now privileged to serve on the Board of Directors of Big Marble Farms, the largest vegetable greenhouse in Western Canada and as President of ATCO Future Fuel RNG which converts waste products into renewable natural gas. Teaching negotiations at The Wharton School was another highlight of my career. It was rewarding to share insights from real-world experiences with aspiring leaders while learning from their fresh perspectives. I have used this experience to speak at a number of events and seminars on the topics of advocacy, governance and negotiations and always enjoy these opportunities.Outside of work, I’m passionate about supporting local initiatives that build community I spent over 14 years volunteering with the Millarville Racing and Agricultural Society to sustain this historic society and help make it financially sustainable in the long term. I am currently co-Chair of the ICD Calgary Chapter Executive, in this role I am supporting the Calgary Director community by arranging events and discussions that help foster good governance. I also serve as a Director of IPPSA the Independent Power Producers Society of Alberta, an industry association.
