ABOUT ANNABEL HARRISON

I am an HSE Advisor at RWE Offshore Wind, supporting safe and sustainable operations at the Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm. My career is built on a strong foundation in health, safety and wellbeing, underpinned by hands-on experience across local government, community projects, and the renewable energy sector.I hold a 1st Class Honours Degree in Sports Development & Management, where I developed early experience in research analysis and wellbeing, through work with Everton Football Club and international collaboration with academics in the U.S.After completing a 2.5-year graduate programme with North East Lincolnshire Council, I moved into the offshore wind industry, developing my portfolio of HSE qualifications and development programmes which includes: NEBOSH National General Certificate, Level 3 SHE Technician, Fire Risk Assessor, Noise Assessor, TapRooT® Advanced Root Cause Analysis Team Leader, CMI Level 3 First Line Management, and the Emerging Leaders programme. I am currently working towards my NEBOSH Environmental Management.Within RWE, I actively support the development of future talent by mentoring and assisting HSE apprentices across the UK. I’m also passionate about STEM outreach, regularly volunteering in local schools and colleges to share knowledge and inspire the next generation of HSE professionals. At Humber Gateway, I’ve been part of an environmental initiative to design a green space programme featuring four beehives, aimed at boosting local biodiversity and promoting long-term sustainability. This project showcases genuine environmental responsibility, with all profits from the honey produced donated to a local charity.I am solution-focused with a strong emphasis on the people I work with. One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across a wide range of teams and levels within the business, ensuring clear and effective safety communication.
