About Anna Waterman

With the belief that nutrition is the foundation of health, I earned my bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of North Florida to serve as a solid base on which to build further knowledge of health and wellness. Throughout my time as a nutrition student, I not only excelled in the rigors of my program, but I used my abilities to propel others to success via my roles as a supplemental instructor and learning coach. As Editor-in-Chief of UNFNutriNews, I sharpened my leadership and team-building skills. As a community member, I strove to combat the ever-growing problem of food insecurity by packaging and delivering healthful meals to at-risk seniors with the University of North Florida Center for Nutrition and Food Security. Since graduating, I have worked in the medical field as a medical scribe where I have gained keen insight into how medicine operates and where we can improve patient health and wellbeing through proper nutrition education and intervention. I am also working as a research coordinator to explore the connections between the gut microbiome, nutritional intake, and cognitive function in the senior population. I hope to transition to a new role to utilize my knowledge and skills that I have gained both through my education and diverse experiences.
