Focus is on strengthening the people, culture and leadership foundations across Foundry as the business continues to grow.Working across teams and sites to support coach development, improve clarity around roles and progression, and help create an environment where people feel supported, motivated and able to do their best work.Collaborating with leadership to evolve how we hire, develop and retain great people, while ensuring the culture continues to reflect what makes Foundry unique.

ABOUT ANNA WARD

I work at the intersection of people, strategy and performance within the fitness industry. Currently stepping into a Head of People & Culture role at Foundry, my focus is on building strong, high performing teams and creating environments where coaches can do their best work. This includes supporting leadership, developing clear progression pathways, and helping shape a culture that balances high standards with genuine care for people. Prior to this, I led operations across the London and Cobham sites at Instate Fitness, managing coaching teams, driving performance, and shaping the member experience from first interaction through to long term retention. Alongside the day to day running of the gyms, I worked closely with the founder on business strategy, using data and insight to improve onboarding, retention and overall client experience. My background started in advertising as a strategist, where I spent six years working across brand, media and communications. That experience still underpins how I think today, using insight to understand people, identify opportunities and shape more effective ways of working. Alongside this, I remain grounded in coaching. Being on the gym floor has shaped how I lead, understanding the realities of the role, the pressures coaches face, and what it takes to build trust, consistency and high standards over time. I am particularly interested in building environments where people feel challenged, supported and proud of the standards they deliver, and how that translates into long term performance for both individuals and the business. Becoming a mum has further shaped my perspective on leadership, empathy and the importance of building environments that genuinely support people through different stages of life.
