I am currently serving my second year as a missionary with Christ in the City. Our mission is to know, love, and serve the poor. We have the opportunity to encounter the homeless of Denver, Colorado and form friendships with them. Our ministry is all about reconciliation and building relationships. It is our hope to restore dignity to those who often feel unseen and unloved- Build relationships with the homeless in Denver in order to know, love, and serve the poor- Embody our core mission and incorporate it into daily life- Live in community with 29 diverse missionaries from around the world- Create a space of freedom and understanding in which others can unfold and develop- Practice merciful and charitable communication on the streets and within community- Crisis management in high-stress situations with tenderness and efficiency- Resolve conflict within teams and interpersonal relationships- Persevere in the face of difficulty and traumatic events- Creatively solve problems in community living, strategic planning, and street dynamics- Embody obedience in observing a rigid schedule of daily life- Develop and maintain relationships with mission partners in order to fundraise support- Engage in spiritual, intellectual, human, and apostolic formation to become a more whollyintegrated Catholic professional- Manage incoming applicants and accompany them through the discernment process- Create graphic design and marketing pieces that share our mission and tell the stories ofour friends on the street in a dignified manner
