ABOUT ANNA RAMELLA
I’m a post-doctoral researcher in biomedical engineering at Politecnico di Milano. With more then 4 years of experience stent-graft modelling, I have developed an innovative numerical method for replicating in-silico the Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR) procedure. My strong background in numerical simulation and expertise in FEA, CFD, FSI analysis has been fundamental to my career. Recognized for my contributions to the field, I won among the others the 2024 Clinical Biomechanics Award by the European Society of Biomechanics and the 2023 Researcher Prize at the European Symposium on Vascular Biomaterials. The research I’m carrying out is supported by strong collaborations with clinicians both nationally and internationally. These partnerships have been crucial in advancing my work and driving improvements in modeling medical devices and endovascular interventions. This dedication to bridging the gap between engineering and clinical practice continues to make a significant impact in this field.
