ABOUT ANNA PAULSON
I am an executive vice president and the Director of Research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where I also serve on the Executive Committee. In July I will become President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. My responsibilities include leading the Chicago Fed’s research and policy analysis, including leading teams that provide analysis for monetary policymaking and conduct research on banking and financial markets, macroeconomics, microeconomics, and regional economics. I attend meetings of the Federal Open Market Committee, which is responsible for formulating U.S. monetary policy, as an advisor. My research focuses on how experience shapes economic behavior. How does living through a financial crisis impact future investment and savings, for example? I’ve also studied how exposure to institutions impacts investment and banking behavior and how personal financial education influences financial decision-making. Financial stability and the insurance industry are additional areas of focus for me. My research has been published in leading scholarly journals, including the Journal of Political Economy, the Review of Economics and Statistics, and the Review of Financial Studies. You can read my working papers, blog posts, and other research work via the link below.
