About Anna Parks

When I took my first class in Psychology at the University of Washington (UW), I knew I had found my passion in working with and helping others. After I interned at the UW Autism Center, at their Summer Treatment Program with kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD, I knew the field of behavioral analysis was the one for me.In 20••••19, I pursued my Master’s of Special Education: Applied Behavioral Analysis at UW while also gaining hands on experience through my practicum placement in the Project DATA program on campus. My favorite part of my day was watching the kids grow and improve, while learning new skills. My research capstone project while working there was on Decreasing Levels of Peer-Related Aggression in a Preschooler with Autism.When I am not working, I enjoy going to fitness classes, spending quality time with family and friends, and exploring the outdoors. Since graduating with my Masters degree, I have also received my BCBA board certification and completed a rigorous supervisor development training program. I have experience working in the private school, home, clinic and community settings as a BCBA as well as in various leadership roles. Currently, I am working as a clinical supervisor and Director of Insurance Based Services—North Region at Connections in Kirkland, WA. My passions are around supporting individuals with challenging behaviors, and supporting parents through parent training. I also love mentoring and training staff in the skills of ABA.As I learn and expand my professional skills, I also want to acknowledge the importance of continuing my education around the neurodiversity movement, listening to autistic advocates, and continuing to push myself and others around me to be providing the best care and support services, while acknowledging the growth ABA has to do as a field. I dedicate myself and my career to never stop learning, always be listening, and to continue to challenge the field, myself and others to do better.
