ABOUT ANNA NEALE
As a registered provisional psychologist, I believe supporting one’s mental health is vitally important, whether that means learning how to better manage stress, improving communication skills, practicing helpful self-care strategies, improved nutrition and sleep hygiene, more effective coping skills, learning how to work with difficult people, addressing interpersonal or relationship concerns, or navigating personal challenges. I believe we all have within us, the capacity for growth and change.I work from a relationship-focused, trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive lens. I have found this approach effective in helping clients uncover and unpack experiences in their own work towards their process of change. While it may be cliché, I firmly believe that we are all interconnected in some way; none of us exists on an island. I take an eclectic, strength-focused approach that integrates humanistic, attachment, person-centred, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioural modalities. My areas of interest include grief, loss and trauma; individual and couples’ therapy; self-concept, self-esteem and personal development; desire to make life changes (e.g. smoking cessation, reduction in social media), anxiety; depression; stress management, chronic pain (e.g. injury, illness, chronic conditions), life transitions (e.g, marriage, divorce, birth of a child, new job, career change, retirement), sexuality and working with twins. I work with diverse populations including individuals, families, couples, adults, adolescents and children. My first career is in communications and public affairs. As a generalist with many years in that sector, I have a well-rounded skill set and strong competencies within the key areas of strategic communications including but not limited to corporate communications, issues management, crisis, change & emergency communications, communications planning and consultation, community investment, public engagement & stakeholder relations and corporate reputation and branding.Outside of work, I\'m a first-generation Canadian still working on acclimatizing to Alberta winters. I\'m a polyglot in training who loves fashion, fitness, food, and films, traveling, music, and lifelong learning. When not at work, you can often find me in the gym or in my kitchen planning healthy meals.
