About Anna Leah Lande
Stabilization Advisor and acting team lead at the Department of State’s Bureau for Conflict Stabilization and Operations in the East Asia Pacific office. Currently detailing as Benin Desk officer to State\'s Bureau of African Affairs. Formerly, I was International Relations Specialist at Department of Labor. I also earned a Master of Global Affairs as a student and research assistant at the University of Notre Dame. My specialization is in Conflict Transformation. I\'m interested in policy analysis, project impact evaluation, and stabilization operations. By 2022, I gained three years of experience in monitoring and evaluating policy projects in East Africa. First as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ethiopia, and later as project lead in an Oxfam in Kenya policy initiative. For an additional three years, I honed my public communication skills with government officials, civil society organizations, and private business representatives as a broadcast reporter for Albuquerque\'s NPR member station and press release editor. In these positions, I translated research to wide audiences, wrote copy on deadline, and produced content for a variety of social media platforms. Throughout, I remained academically and professionally invested in streamlining policy dissemination for public consumption. I like to conduct research with considerate communication and deliberate analysis. Recreationally, I enjoy running, bouldering, chess, and learning new languages. Most recently, I tested in Advanced Tigrinya and Intermediate Spanish fluency.
