ABOUT ANNA GODDARD

As a pediatric clinical leader and policy influencer for School-Based Health Center (SBHC) care, Dr. Goddard paved the way to define trauma-informed care in nursing. With nationally recognized quality improvement efforts in SBHCs, Dr. Goddard’s highlighted works include publications in peer-reviewed high-impact journals, book chapters on pediatric care, national presentations on trauma-informed care, and leading collaboratives to improve SBHC quality outcomes. She received her Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University (‘16), a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Yale University (‘05), and her Bachelors of Science (BS) in Biology (‘02) from Westminster College. She is the Managing Director of Medical Services & Quality Improvement at Child and Family Agency. Skilled in collaborative efforts in healthcare & education, strategies in support of the patient and employee experience, improvement of quality outcomes, & reducing costs to stakeholders. Directed clinical and organizational quality improvement, operationalized performance measures and metrics, and coordinated clinical decision support systems. National award recognition for political advocacy for both APRN practice and SBHCs as a care modality. Subject matter expert on adverse childhood experiences, trauma-informed care, and trauma-informed education. Trained in Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Open School Certificate in Quality & Safety (Improvement Capability, Patient Safety, Leadership, Person- & Family- Centered Care, & Triple Aim for Populations). Teaching expertise in online, blended, and face-to-face teaching pedagogies and strategies for student engagement. Active contributor to university, college, departmental, and professional services in education and health care sector.
