About Anna Burns

Anna currently is a Senior CRA 2 at Syneos Health. Prior to that she was a senior site manager at Johnson and Johnson. Previously she worked as a Senior Clinical Research Associate I at IQVIA monitoring clinical trials in various indications. Formerly, Anna worked as Clinical Support Specialist at PPD on behalf of GSK. She became passionate for pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical field while attending Gettysburg College, where she took a psychopharmacology class. She studied various psychoactive drugs and their pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. This passion was heightened when she worked for Janssen Pharmaceuticals as a research intern in the immune-oncology department. Working as a clinical support specialist, Anna has gained experience in adhering to Good Clinical Practices and ICH Guidelines. Prior to working at PPD, Anna was a site support specialist at MMG. She provided recruitment support to clinical research sites and helped create recruitment and enrollment plans based on each specific site\'s challenges. She also helped maintain patient engagement in the trial by providing participants with transportation to and from the site, as well as tracked at risk patients for missed appointments. Anna was able to develop her GCP skills and work with various sponsors in different indications.In addition to her work in the pharmaceutical industry, Anna created and developed an App called Social Code. She received funding through an Entrepreneurial Fellowship at Gettysburg College and was able to lead a group of students to create a MVP. Social Code was approved by Apple in Test Flight and is currently on the Apple App Store for download by Gettysburg Students.
