About Anna Amato
Evaluation Specialist | International Development ⌨ a••••••••@gmail.com 20••••••36 | Getting to the core of the issues drives me: I love discerning the best methods to answer the evaluation questions, then rigorously analyzing the evidence to look for the most impactful findings. My strength is analyzing data to discover significant findings that are often overlooked. I have provided guidance on setting up a data collection system for the World Bank\'s Independent Evaluation Group. I have provided technical support and supervision for staff learning about data collection and methods. I have developed a knack for observing and understanding the contexts of evaluation subjects to learn the most effective way to impact policy and learning. It is so important to recommend the most actionable and impactful solutions. In the international development arena, I have conducted evaluations in the areas of water and sanitation, energy, natural disaster reconstruction, urban development, the environment and cultural heritage. I have collected data through surveys, focus groups, country case studies and stakeholder interviews for project-level, country-level, and thematic evaluations. I also have expertise in designing results frameworks and indicators and implementing M&E plans. I also have expertise reviewing evaluation processes. I co-authored a paper on World Bank impact evaluations, was a key evaluator in a study of World Bank self-evaluation processes, and authored a paper on the cost of citizen engagement.
