About Ann Torregrossa

I have 53 years of experience with Medicaid law and health law/ policy. Accomplishments-wrote the original Children\'s Health Insurance Law (CHIP) that was a model for the national legislation- during the Rendell Administration, wrote the Cover All Kids legislation that expanded health care coverage to all uninsured children in PA-helped author Prescription for PA, which was Governor Rendell\'s health care reform agenda-during the Ridge Administration, Chaired the Assisted Living Advisory Council-during the Rendell Administration, worked on the Assisted Living Residence legislation, wrote a number of CMS grants to improve LTCSS for Pennsylvania, helped support scope of practice and hospital-acquired infections reforms. I also -led the all-payer Chronic Care initiative that included over 900 primary care practices and transformed how primary health care is provided and paid for. Recently, I have been working with over35 health foundations to improve the integration of physical and behavioral health, LTCSS, and maximizing enrollment through the Marketplace. In addition, I am working at the Independence Foundation with their health grants, Medical Legal Partnership Collaborative, and Public Interest Law Fellowship Program.
