About Ann Lesperance

Ms. Lesperance is the Director of the Northwest Regional Technology Center for Homeland Security at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). She is also the Director of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities Programs at Northeastern University Seattle campus where she is building programs on security and resilience studies and urban informatics. She brings to both roles a specialty in evaluating issues from a technical, public policy, and national security perspective. Her main area of interest is emergency management and technology development and deployment for innovative homeland security technologies. Her interest in the response, recovery, and recovery enterprise spans domestic and international response to disasters of all types in light of today’s and future disruptive technologies. She also in the program manager for several DHS program that include topics such as critical infrastructure resilience, future of emergency management and emerging technologies for the first responder community.In her nearly 30 years of service to the national security enterprise, Ms. Lesperance has collaborated with key regional partners in building productive partnerships to advance technology development and deployment for innovative homeland security, emergency preparedness, and environmental technologies. These engagements have included leaders from local emergency managers, Governor’s Office, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, NORTHCOM, Fire and Police departments and public in major metropolitan areas, DHS Science & Technology, FEMA, and a variety of private sector stakeholders. Ms. Lesperance is an invited speaker to committees and organizations worldwide to share her experience and foster open dialogue about emerging threats and opportunities
